Generous layers of GOTS-certified virgin wool form the supportive core of the mattress. Wool naturally helps regulate temperature and manage moisture, creating a sleeping environment that feels cool in summer, warm in winter, and comfortably dry throughout the year. Its natural resilience cushions the body while providing balanced support without synthetic foam or springs.

The wool filling is enclosed in a durable, heavyweight GOTS-certified organic cotton cover. Selected for its strength, breathability, and comfortable feel, the cover allows air and moisture to move naturally through the mattress. It is made without dyes, bleach, or added chemical treatments and is designed to withstand regular use over time.

Each Basta® Essential Wool Mattress is handcrafted using carefully selected natural materials. It contains no springs, synthetic foam, chemical flame retardants, or unnecessary additives, making it a practical choice for sleepers looking for a breathable, foam-free mattress with a straightforward construction.

Mattresses wider than 135 cm are made in two equal sections for safer handling and delivery. The sections arrive in separate packages and connect securely with a discreet zipper to form a unified sleeping surface. The connection is designed not to affect the mattress’s comfort or performance and should not be noticeable during sleep.
