PRODUCT CARE
Wool mattresses will compress 10-15% during the first few months of use. Wool settles and dips where your body lays on the mattress. This is a natural process and cannot be avoided. To ensure the settlement occurs evenly you simply need to:
• Flip and rotate the mattress (head to toe & top to bottom) at least once weekly in the first 2-3 months or until the wool compresses, and regularly thereafter.

CLEANING YOUR MATTRESS
The ticking is not removable and needs to be spot cleaned.
Use a solution of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water, then air-dry completely, in sunlight if possible.
Once a year, on a sunny day, allow it to air out (sun has a natural cleaning ability).

CLEANING THE PUDDLE PAD
Protector is machine washable at wool program. For best results wash the wool pad with lukewarm water using a mild detergent with a pH below 7 for wool (wool is an acidic material). Wool wash bars can be used to help remove tough stains as well. Sunlight helps wool’s loft.

CLEANING THE FITTED SHEET
Machine washable. Use Delicate Cycle and mild detergent. Do not tumble dry.

LANOLIZING THE PUDDLE PAD
To increase the waterproof abilities of the protector, lanolize it before first use and when the pad is washed:
– Begin with dry, clean wool (the mattress protectors are machine washable at wool program with a detergent for wool).
– Draw a pan/bucket/sink of lukewarm water. Hot water will felt and shrink wool.
– Take a separate cup of very hot water, add a teaspoon (or 2-3 teaspoons for larger sizes) of pure lanolin. Stir to dissolve. Dissolving well is very important to avoid sticky spots on the wool.
– Once well dissolved add to the sink of lukewarm water and mix well.
– Add your wool, soaking it through with the lukewarm, lanolin-rich bath. Let sit for a minimum of 3 hours to overnight.
– When it is time to dry the protector gently squeeze the fabric. Hang it and let it dry.

• These are handmade items. Please, allow some deviation in dimensions. Any deviation in dimensions less than 5% is considered acceptable.
• All wool-filled items are subject to some degree of compression. However, we stuff items densely with wool so they come thicker than advertised and over the first months of use compress down to about their advertised thickness.
• Wool fibers are in various natural colors and have the natural odor of sheep, which will be gone in a couple of months.
