L'atto di addormentarsi \u00e8 un processo che richiede un ambiente sicuro e uno stato mentale rilassato. Sarebbe un vicolo cieco evolutivo per una specie che si disinteressasse dell'ambiente circostante e delle turbolenze interne in nome di una notte di riposo. Solo una persona totalmente priva di consapevolezza farebbe un pisolino accanto a un branco di leoni, a meno che, ovviamente, non voglia che questo sia il suo ultimo rituale per andare a dormire.<\/p>\n<p>Affermare che il sonno leggero, l'irrequietezza o l'insonnia siano un sottoprodotto del nostro condizionamento evolutivo \u00e8 un'affermazione inverosimile. Tuttavia, il fatto che le persone abbiano bisogno di un ambiente buio e freddo per addormentarsi \u00e8 un segno evidente che il nostro cervello cerca un condizionamento specifico per il suo riavvio notturno. Dall'altro lato della medaglia, per\u00f2, una passeggiata mentale richiede poco o nulla carburante cognitivo ed \u00e8 tutt'altro che impegnativa dal punto di vista emotivo. Che si tratti di un mondo elaborato completamente fatto di lana o di un semplice sentiero nella foresta, le immagini che desiderate generare vi faranno inevitabilmente addormentare.<\/p>\n<p>Per trarre tutti i benefici di questa pratica, \u00e8 meglio eseguirla un paio di minuti prima di andare a letto o, meglio ancora, utilizzarla come ultimo elemento del regime di sonno, proprio quando si \u00e8 sul punto di addormentarsi.<\/p>\n<p>I rituali della buonanotte sono molto individuali e internet \u00e8 pieno di consigli che possono funzionare o meno per voi. Tuttavia, potrebbe essere utile raggruppare l'ampio buffet di informazioni in tre tipi di rituali della buonanotte: quelli che calmano la psiche (Diario delle preoccupazioni), quelli che manipolano il corpo a livello fisiologico (Kefir) e infine i rituali che vi mettono attivamente in uno stato di sonno (Meditazione).
